The Maison is relaunching the Tank Française watch. Launched in 1996, the Tank Française debuted a metal bracelet in perfect harmony with the case, becoming an immediate member of the great Tank family.
In 2023, an evolution to the Tank Française is the monobloc metal design. A new approach, both aesthetic and ergonomic, which energises the ultra-profiled lines of the watch. There are also new dial finishes across as well as the integration of the crown into the case design.

New: Cartier Tank Française
The Cartier Tank Française is a classic and timeless watch that exudes luxury and style. The design of the watch is sleek and elegant, with clean lines and a simple, yet sophisticated look. The case finishing is well-made, with attention to detail and high-quality materials used throughout. The bracelet is comfortable and the watch itself is weighty and substantial. Overall, the Cartier Tank Française is a luxurious and stylish watch.
Launched in 1996, the Tank Française debuted a metal bracelet in perfect harmony with the case, becoming an immediate member of the great Tank family. A monobloc metal design that Cartier is radicalising with this brand-new version.
“The new Tank Française reflects a creative conviction. Like rediscovering the raw nature of a cut stone, it was about capturing the watch’s radical shape, simplifying its essential lines and stripping them of all embellishment to return to the myth’s origin.”. Marie-Laure Cérède, Jewellery & Watchmaking Creative Director
An expression of a certain avant-garde spirit, the Tank Française connects us to Paris, its freedom and creativity, a cultural geography that was so well captured by New Wave cinema. With that, together with the introduction of the new Tank Française watch, there will also be a new campaign film starring Catherine Deneuve and Rami Malek, directed by Guy Ritchie. The film is a tribute to cinema and to the idea of creative freedom upheld by the Maison.
The Tank Française watch will be available in steel (small, medium and large models) and yellow gold, with or without diamonds (small and medium models). The small and medium models will be equipped with a high autonomy quartz movement whilst the large model will house a mechanical movement with automatic winding.
